Twenty-eighth day of the first lunar month

Dr. Sun Fo invited to lunch in honour of the Tigerbalm chap Aw Boon-Haw (胡文虎).[1].

One has to get much to be honoured nowadays. However, I have no ill opinion of him.

He is much better than my fellow district man Eu Tong Sen(余東旋)[2]

Xie Bumin (謝不敏) invited me to supper at his office at the Fujian Provincial Bank.

Very good fish and eel. Met a newly married happy couple Mr and Mrs. Li who

are staying there and also Miss Yu of the Central Filming Studio.

[1] Aw Boon-Haw(1882-1954) was a wealthy Chinese businessman in Burma and Hong Kong. He was from Fujian.

[2] Eu Tong Sen(1877-1941) was a wealthy business man in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia the owner of Eu Yan Sang. He had two castles in Hong Kong.
