President Sun phoned and I called on him. Discussed Dai Defu’s case. I had sent Li Sizhao (厲斯昭) to get in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs people who have promised me to help him. Ma Chaojun advised me to join the diplomatic service again but he opposed my taking up anything less than an ambassadorship. He confided to me his wish to go back to Guangdong. I promised to speak to Dr. Sun Fo.
