Mrs. Ma Chaojun, Mrs. Liang Hancao and Wu Minchi(吳敏墀) (Principal of Meifang Middle School) came from Chungking yesterday as Mrs. Sun’s guests. As she could not put them up they stayed at my house. They rose quite early at 4.00 a.m., and as my servants were away the only thing for me to do was to accompany them to Beibei and have our breakfast there. We visited the factories [XX] managed by Mrs. Ma. Quite well organised. Visited Fanny afterwards.

The enemy planes came most unexpectedly at quite late an hour today. The A.R.A. was heard at 6.00 p.m. and the All Clear signal given as late as 11.45 p.m. I had a pleasant dream awoken only by the All–Clear signal. I dreamt that S.L.M.C. was sleeping with me, and only because I look into consideration that she was a virgin, that I refrained from having her, though she was quite responsive to my advances. She had an excellent figure and from the way she acted she did not seem so innocent. But I was so terribly afraid of the consequences that I controlled myself. I awoke in a sweat.
