I stayed at home for the whole day reading and writing letters. Baoqiao came and we had a talk.

After supper I went with Tianjuan to Li Weikuan’s place to buy dried sausage because in the past few days I found the food so awful. Even though I am not a selective person I found it hard to tolerate. Li Weikuan said that he could make more than a hundred dollars from a small business here. If Sun Fo was bad-tempered towards him again he would quit and focus on this small business, which could make five to six hundred dollars. It was much better than being an official.
