Received information from Bingkun about the jade affair. This thing has been my greatest worry for over two years and continues to plague me. After all, why should I feel so bad about it? What wrong have I done to others? I am afraid I have been too sensitive over the moral side of the case. I must, in the future, derive more comfort from the maxim that “things might not go as one wishes but I swear that I feel no guilt” and be satisfied to have done my best.
