Yukun told me he had returned Prof. Charles Beard’s America in Midpassage to Dr. Wang Chonghui for me. As these two volumes were birthday presents from Xu Mo to Dr. Wang Chonghui I had to take good care of them. They are quite good books and regarded in America as “The Book of the Year”. Very informative and written in unusually good English for an American writer. They gave me many pleasant hours in my garden under the blissful morning sun.
