Swedish Minister Assarson visited me and thanked me for the small bronze Buddha I gave him. He said the American Ambassador Standley talked to him before leaving Moscow, and told him he was very unhappy with the Soviet Union. He said on his arrival, he was full of enthusiasm and sincerity. But the Soviet Government never thought about other people’s situations. The United States was also a strong country and there was no point in listening to the directions of the Soviet Union all the time. If the Soviet Union kept adopting this attitude, then the United States would be very disappointed with European politics and not bother to ask any longer.
