In the morning, I went with Zhongxiong to the local shops. I found that the prices of their products were really lower than those of Paris. The loan for a library novel for a week was just four pence.

At half past four, we went to Café Monico restaurant at Piccadilly Circus for afternoon tea. It only cost 2/6 [two shillings and sixpence] for each person. At half past six, F.T. Cheng invited us to [see] London Casino. The movie was quite good and ended at half past eight. Then we went with him to have supper at his home. We had Shahe Fen[1] and raw fish porridge. Both were quite good.
