Over the past few days British public opinion has made many criticisms about our military defeat in Henan and our country’s internal affairs. These are clear indications of foreign feelings towards us. Our country’s difficulties are beyond the imagination of foreigners, but as a matter of fact there is room for improvement of our internal mechanism. If our authority doesn’t make great determination to reform, it will be hard to predict how foreign countries will treat us in the future. What pains me most is that what foreigners say are facts. I feel sad because we can only blame ourselves for the faults. I do not blame others for being straightforward.
