I invited the Ambassador of Iran Ahy and his Counsellor Etessami, the Swedish Minister Assarson and his Secretary C. Astrom and also the Political Minister of Greece, and the Mexican Minister M.L. Quintanvilla for lunch at the hotel. We had a very happy talk. We had the Mexican and Greek Ministers here, so there was no dead air. I heard the Secretary of the Swedish Embassy has been recalled because the Soviet Union said he was involved in anti-Soviet activities, so they asked the Swedish Government to recall him. As a matter of fact there is no opportunity here to do anything bad towards Soviet Union. Recently the Soviet Union has seemed to be unhappy with Sweden, probably because Sweden sold steel to Germany. As a matter of fact Sweden was in very difficult situation. If it gave an excuse to Germany it would be invaded. In such a situation we should be just and feel pity, and should not hate it. The Soviet Union didn’t forgive it, and this might make people think they have their own agenda. This is no good for the Soviet Union.
