I learnt Italian on my own.

In the past few days, the waters of the River Seine have surged. The water level of areas around the countryside of nearby Paris have exceeded their banks. Therefore, the mayor of our district has informed various households to prepare by moving any belongings out from their cellars. But I think that the river water still has six or seven feet to go before it would spill out on to the road surface. There was no need to be so cautious.
