The Soviet newspapers published the Tass agency declaration, saying that last week a foreign newspaper rumoured that the Soviet Union will have independent peace talks with Finland and issue an ultimatum to it. The Tass agency was instructed to clarify that there was absolutely no such thing. It is quite clear that the Soviet Union doesn’t want to negotiate peace with Finland now because it dispatched 200 planes to bombard the Finnish capital yesterday. Because the current military situation is whether Finland withdraws from the Axis or not will make no difference to the war. Also the collapse of Finland will happen soon, it would be better for the Soviet Union to fundamentally solve the Finnish problem and to completely expel anti-Soviet elements, so as to solve all problems once and for all. Finland is unclear about the situation, and it wasted its good chance in this spring. Its fate is sealed.
