Minister Song broadcast in England, talking about the mutual relationship between the Chinese War of Resistance and anti-aggression. He also said that China had no intention of expanding our territory after the war. We only wanted to develop our industry and agriculture and raise the living standard of our people. I sent him a telegram saying that we were going to move back to Moscow and talked about his broadcast.
At 7.00 p.m. I received a telegram from yhe Generalissimo to Stalin, congratulating him upon his victories in Orel and Bielgorod, and then I asked Secretary Gou to immediately translate it into Russian. I then went to the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 11.00 p.m. to hand it to Lozovsky, along with the original text in Chinese. He thanked me and said he would send it to Stalin. We then talked about war matters, and for the first time he showed that he was quite optimistic and he says that the German military will collapse in the not too distant future.
Yesterday and today I have been packing my things for Moscow. I was very busy. The Americans say three moves are tantamount to one fire. It is quite true.
