Duan Guanhai visited me with Legislator Du. They talked with me for a while, then they left. Duan Guanhai has received a decree from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that he should be promoted to the position of ambassador and will be treated as such. This seems to be the result of my talk with Xie Renzhi. Chiang Ching-kuo and Shen Changhuan seem to have honoured my opinion.

In the afternoon, I went out with Kitty to watch the movie, Quatre Jours a Paris (Four Days in Paris) by Louis Mariano.  It was quite good.
