Yesterday Pravda in Moscow published the congratulatory telegram from the Generalissimo to Stalin, placing it in a very important position, which is the same as Roosevelt’s. In other countries this sort of thing is common, but here it is regarded as quite important, proving that the Soviet Government deemed it important. So I immediately reported to the Generalissimo.

Yesterday the British Embassy told me that the British Government is willing to initially send 550 trucks from India, so China can transport goods earlier via the Soviet Union. The British Government is brilliant for doing this.

Today the British Embassy sent me the barometer and thermometer that Qian Tai bought for me. Both are very nice.
