In the morning, Yang Gongda came. I went to Tongzhihui of the United Nations with him and Zhongxiong to visit with Mr. Zhu Jiahua. Then we went with him in his car to the luncheon of Lou Tongsun at Beitan. (No.30, Guangming Road, Xindian) Minister Zhang Qiyun was present. After lunch, Zhongxiong and I, stayed for a while. Zhang talked with me about setting up a post as Cultural Commissioner at the Chinese Embassy in Paris. I agreed to talk to his newly-dispatched commissioner, Sun Dangyue (孫宕越). Afterwards, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Tongsun invited me and Zhongxiong to visit Beitan together. The scenery was good. On the boat, Lou told me about the situation here.

In the afternoon, I returned to House of Freedom for a rest. At 6:00 p.m., Bao Yuanru (鮑淵如) and his wife came. They invited me to dine at Jushuixuan. Afterwards, Bao’s wife went out to see a movie. He returned to the hotel with me and talked about the economic conditions of Taiwan. He did not leave until 11:00 p.m. I got quite a lot of information.
