Dull, heavy snow

1. According to Krasnaya Zvezda, the military group formed by Yugoslavia in the Soviet Union will go to the Front line soon. The organisation of that military group is that the Germans forced people in Yugoslavia to join the army to fight on the Eastern line. Therefore when the Yugoslavians found the opportunity, they joined the Red Army, so the Soviet Union reorganised them to be an independent military group. In the future this will have considerable influence on Yugoslavian politics. I reported this to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. At 9.00 p.m. there was a gun salute to celebrate the Red Army’s recovery of Kirovograd. The Germans had concentrated much of their strength there, but after four days of bitter fighting it was taken back by the Red Army. This affects the whole German army a great deal in Dnieper Bend.
