I studied Italian on my own.

In the evening I invited Liu Kai, Yu Junji to bid farewell to them. I also invited Guo Youshou and Guo Jinkun as accompanying guests. The salt-baked chicken which Kitty has learnt to make recently is quite delicious. The carp which weighed 4.5 jin was also delicious. After dinner, we played bridge.

Liu Kai told me about the situation in Taiwan. He said that though Taiwan was making progress, as expected it was lagging far behind. He also said that Shen Changhuan has made great progress recently. As Shen was the spokesperson for the Nationalist Government, therefore the lawyer representing Mao Bangchu might call him to appear in court when Shen arrived at United States.  So, Ambassador Gu Weijun had urged him not to go there. Liu Kai said Shen would come over here soon and would tell me in detail about the latest developments in Taiwan.
