Guo Youshou invited to Theatre Empire to see Marquis de Curvas’s ballet. He invited also Mrs. Perrot who has been having ballet lessons for the last three years. Les Sylphides was danced by Miss Highlower. Miss Ricarda is fairly good but certainly not up to the Russian standard and I think even below that of the ballerinas of Roland Petit’s group. The Spanish dance of Miss Ricarda in La Tertula was fairly good. Highlower’s Don Quixote is better than Les Sylphides. But the new ballet Piege de Lumiere I cannot appreciate—the music is decidedly bad.
