Light rain, fine in the afternoon

I went to market in the morning.

In the afternoon, Chen Jingcheng and his wife, as well as his youngest son came to greet me Happy New Year. Geng and his family also came. He said the head of the China Merchants Steam Navigation Company might be of help to him. Ambassador Yu Junji, representative Liu Qinwu, Guo Jinkun, Liu Kai and Zhao Guanhai and his wife all visited me.

At five my neighbor, Carru, invited me to have afternoon tea and play bridge. I did not return home until half past seven. (I went with Kitty and Baoqiao.) In the evening, Sun Fo invited me, Kitty and Zhongxiong to watch a movie, which was quite good.

I studied Italian on my own.
