Fine

In the evening, I invited the American Minister Hamilton for dinner. He will return to the United States soon so I wanted to say farewell to him. Apart from Counsellors Liu and Chen and Secretary Chen Daichu, we only invited American Embassy Secretaries Perkins, Thompson and Page to the dinner. Hamilton asked me for my opinion about the colonies in the Far East. I said that our country was not in the right position to advocate anything, but on the American side, based on humanitarian reasons, we should advocate liberation, and shouldn’t maintain the old imperialism.  I listed the inequality of various peoples’ treatment and the harsh behaviour of colonial governments. This was because on returning to the United States he will work in the State Department in Washington, I hoped that he could have an accurate understanding of such an issue in the Far East.
