I had lunch at Wu Shangying’s place. We returned immediately. Wang Chonghui, Xie Baoqiao, Wu Shangying, Yukun and others (and I) took a car to Chungking. On the way, we stopped temporarily at Xie Gengmin’s place at Geleshan. In the evening, Ma Chaojun came to talk. He was just back from Hong Kong and Guangdong, and said Yu Hanmou and others were all unhappy with Li Hanhun, and asked fervently that he should try his best to return to Guangdong. He also told me that the American Secretary of the Treasury was dissatisfied with Song Ziwen, as the latter was too arrogant and had too much frequent contact with American women.
