Fine, sun

The Pope made a speech against dictatorship. It seemed to target the Soviet Union. To be honest during this time it is inappropriate for the Pope to say anything about politics.

The Hungarian Parliament had its meeting in Debrecen and it was against Hitler’s Germany. The Soviet Union has started it political work in Hungary. This is only very natural.

Today was Christmas Eve. Before the war this was the happiest eve in China. I recalled that when I was in Shanghai I went with mother to the dance hall. But last year my mother passed away, and it was the saddest moment in my life. Now though I cannot mourn due to circumstances, I still insist on mourning in my heart. Therefore I stayed at my home to mourn. As Bai Juyi’s poem goes, while people around were happy I was the only one who was sad. This was true to me.
