Wrote to eldest sister asking her to send back Kitty’s cheque.
Guo invited Mr. and Mrs. Mlle Perrot, Mr. and Mrs. Drouin, Mr. d’Argenet, Mrs. Xu (Sun Duoci孫多慈[1]) for dinner. Mr. Perrot is in the government service and is in charge of organizing the children and women’s exposition at the Grand Palace every year. The daughter is a charming girl of twenty-four years working as a secretary in a big firm. She has been learning ballet for three years. Mr. Drouin is the nephew of Andre Gide and a good friend of Andre Maurois. The main reason for the party is to get Drouin to take Mrs. Chen Yuan to see Maurois when she will come to Paris next week, and to ask Maurois to write a preface for her book. D’Argenet is an expert on Chinese art and is working at the museum here. Quite a pleasant party.
[1] Sun Duoci(1913-1975) was one of the lovers of Xu Beihong. She came from a prominent family.
