Fine
At 6.30 a.m. I went to the military airport to see Hurley and Nelson off. Ambassador Harriman and the Soviet Foreign Office, military and trade departments all dispatched people to see them off. Ambassador Harriman was particularly concerned about the reaction of the Soviet side towards the change of the Xinjiang Governor. He asked me to tell him. He also said that transportation via the Soviet Union seemed hopeful. I thought he was too optimistic.
