Heavy snow

Military Attaché Guo said he talked to the military attachés of Britain, Canada and Australia, and they all think that the German army on the East line were forced to retreat but are absolutely not in collapse. Though they lost much material, these were not human resources. Their morale is still very high. The British forces are quite weak.

This move away from Britain is really inconsiderate.

Liquan sent me a telegram, implying that various actions from the Soviet Union were to show its dissatisfaction with the Xinjiang authority. He is in difficulty and has tendered his resignation for the fourth time. He asked me to help. He is really in difficulty. It is also logical that the Soviet Union is dissatisfied with the Xinjiang authority. I can do nothing but try to pacify him.
