At 6:00 p.m., the train arrived in Moscow. I then went with Counsellor Chen and others to the Embassy. Part of the embassy staff still have to live in the National Hotel because I have decided that all the Embassy staff have to concentrate in one area to work, and have to be clean and tidy. All their families have had to move out and we will rent places for them. Official works and private matters have to be clear cut, and it can’t be like before that they lived and worked in the same place that men, women and children were all mixed up together. It looked really bad. The staff all understood and they were also willing to move their families out. (Probably in the past they wanted to save money, therefore they did not want to rent houses outside. It gave the country a bad reputation. Sigh.
