Li Hanhun had written from the United States introducing me to Dr. Li Tingdong (李廷棟). Since Dr. Li has come to Paris, Kitty and I visited him when it happened that we passing by and invited to him to have afternoon tea. According to him, Li Hanhun taught his children at home[1] in the United States, and his living is stable there. For Li Tingdong himself, he was going to Britain to study tropical diseases via Paris. He would stay in London University for half a year. Before he left the United States he had met and talked with Li Zongren, and the latter had nothing particular to do.

At half past five I visited Li Shufan. He had come here from the United States and said that Song Ziwen and H.H. Kung did not have any particular jobs to do. Then we had dinner together. Afterwards we had hotdogs. We went to Casino de Paris.

The American Deputy Secretary of State, George W. Perkins, came to Europe after meeting Marshal Tito in Yugoslavia. He gave a statement to the press yesterday saying that Tito also agreed that the Soviet Union and its vassal states would not invade Yugoslavia this spring.

[1] It is just a literal meaning in Chinese but does not necessarily mean teaching children at home. It might just mean retirement at home.
