I went with Secretary Gou to the tailor shop and ordered a few suits.

I received a telegram from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it said that Consul General Feng Zuwen (馮祖文) would be recalled back to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Tashkent. The reason was probably that Governor Sheng was not pleased with him. But it was not really suitable to find a senior official taking the place. Therefore I cabled the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recommend promoting Secretary Gou to take over.
