Heavy snow

Churchill said in the British Parliament that he might try to meet with Roosevelt or Stalin. Eden also declared that Britain was not informed beforehand about the Soviet recognition of the Bodoglio Government. Because of all these things it is probably necessary for the British, American and Soviet leaders to meet again.

This morning the German broadcast said relations between Chongqing and Yenan are quite tense. The Chongqing side said Yenan just wanted to enlarge their territories and not resist the Japanese. Also Yenan has long been encircled by Chongqing, and Chiang has used about one fifth of his army to surround it. Although enemy propaganda is not altogether reliable, based on Liquan’s telegram, I am afraid that the situation will deteriorate. It is really depressing that many people in the Communist Party still did not understand our country’s situation.

Ambassador Qian Tai brought an ultra violet lamp for me. It arrived through the British Embassy. It is very nice.
