I studied Italian on my own.

According to a report by John Foster Dulles, it said that Chinese Communist authority in the Mainland should not be viewed as stable. People outside mainly explained this as a change in American policy that it wanted to pull down the CCP but not necessarily support Chiang Kai-shek. He emphasized the need for leaders of the free world, notably the U.S.A., to bring about a change in the present Moscow-oriented rule of China.
