At 7.30 a.m. I went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Minister Guo said he would try to transfer Liu Kai back. I quite agreed with this. I also told him that when I wrote to Liu Kai this morning I had indicated, too, that I wanted to help him fulfill his wish to return to China. I returned home at 11.30 a.m. At three, I went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and returned home at six. I received a letter from Li Zhuozhuo (黎灼灼)[1] introducing her friend who is looking for a job. I had not seen her for several years and thought she was still the same. However, I calculated her age and she should now be over thirty-five years old. She has not much golden time remaining. Her prospects are quite worrying. The end result for beauty is rarely good, which is a universal fact. I am afraid she cannot escape such a fact.
