In the evening, I invited the Embassy staff to watch the ballet play Swan Lake. It was a fairy story. The storyline was as follows: In a certain celestial lake the devil controlled the swans. A certain prince saw a swan flying at the palace, chased her and shot her. Then as he approached the lake he saw many beauties transformed from swans. He like one of them very much and danced with her. This part was the essence of the whole play, the female main characters were pretty and their performances very talented. The music was also good. When the devil came, the beauties all disappeared. When the prince was back at the palace, his mother (the Queen) chose a wife for him, the candidates were all very good, they did all they could to catch the prince’s attention. As he liked the swan fairy, he found none of them to his taste. The devil appeared again, and took a black swan fairy with it. She was also extremely pretty and danced very well. The prince liked her too and danced with her. When they were almost falling in love, the devil suddenly summoned the white swan fairy, the prince saw her and chased her from behind. In this scene the actor who played the black swan fairy was pretty and performed well. The prince followed the white swan to the countryside and danced with her. The devil came and ordered the girl to leave but she did not do so. The devil was angry and wanted to kill her. The girl was hit and was dying. The prince fought with the devil, and broke its wings. The devil died and the girl survived. The best part of the play was its music.
