The daughter of the Czechoslovakian reporter, Mr.Varshick, introduced a Russian teacher to me and I decided to employ her. But suddenly Voks (Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries) phoned me to say that they were able to find one. This put me in quite a difficult position. I have already waited for Voks for three weeks, only then did I try to find someone else myself, so I asked Counsellor Liu and Miss Hu to tell them my difficulties, but Vox didn’t forgive. Russians are very narrow-minded.
