At noon, American Ambassador Admiral Standley visited me and asked me about transportation along the Turkestan-Siberia route. I told him about the conference with Minister Mikoyan and also confided to him why we needed this transportation line. He was very satisfied and said he would try to cable the American Government to send the trucks as early as possible.
In the afternoon, the American reporter Mr. Edgar Snow came to see me with two reporters from the London Times.
