At 6.00 in the afternoon I went to the Soviet Film Committee to visit its Vice Chairman Andrevski, and we talked for a long time. He has very straightforward criticisms towards Chinese films. I watched his film “Ukraine War”. It was completely a documentary, without a plot, but you could see the cruelty and destruction of the German army. The director (name unknown) answered that the German army retreated from Kiev on 8 of this month, they razed everything to the ground there, which is historically unprecedented. The Soviet army nearby heard the explosion, and they said the noise was also unprecedented. There were only about 150,000 inhabitants in Kiev, and the German army took about half of the younger and more useful men and women and sent them to Germany and to other areas in the rear as hard labourers and slaves. The other half which were weaker and old were killed. This is one of the cruellest incidents in history.
