Twelfth day of the twelfth lunar month, Yiwei year

Miss Catherine Wu brought her friends from the World Moral Re-Armament Committee to have lunch at our restaurant. Among them there were officials from America. They were so enthusiastic that they were so admirable. Miss Wu told me that she had sold all her properties in Hong Kong and joined this committee. She is already seventy but still has such courage that I thought it was not easy to do so.

I replied to brother-in-law, Bochou, and relayed my condolences upon the death of sister Ying. I replied to second cousin on behalf of Kitty, asking her to come to France. I also replied to He Yongli (何永澧).[1]
