I studied Russian from 11.00 to 1.00. I serious think that my memory is getting worse. I should admit that I am growing old.

This morning Churchill made a report in Parliament, saying that he predicted that the European war would not end until the spring of next year and after that it would take another 18 months to defeat Japan.

In the past few days I have read the former American Ambassador to Japan Joseph C.Grew’s Ten Years in Japan. His estimation of the so called Japanese “liberal” elements is too high, and one could see how hard the American side wanted to prevent the war from happening. As a matter of fact if Japan did not invade Britain and United States, they would certainly not fight against Japan.
