Sent for Miss Long Renrui (龍紉萃) and Miss Zhu Ziwen (朱紫文) and asked them to take care of Fanny during my absence. They gladly consented. Left Dushiqiao at 1.30 p.m. Fanny cried bitterly and I had to leave quickly in order to prevent myself doing the same. Long Renrui and Mrs. Jiang.
