Fifthteenth day of the twelth lunar month
In the morning Pan Chaoying (潘朝英) came with his wife. His wife was the daughter of my classmate Zhou Wenzhi (周文治)[1]. I recalled that when I was a classmate with Zhou Wenzhi, we were still very young. Now we have sons and daughters, and they have married and grown up now.
At 4.00 in the afternoon I went to take a photo to the photo shop. Then I went to the Zhongcha Company and talked to Li Taichu (李泰初) about Chunsheng.
At 7.00, Liang Long (梁龍), Zhang Qian (張謙) and Feng Fei (馮飛) invited me to a farewell dinner. Then I went to Wang Chonghui’s, and left at 11.00. He thought Deputy Minister Wu was not willing to allow Yang Yunzhu to join me in the Soviet Union perhaps because I first discussed the matter of Yang with the Generalissimo and Minister Song. I just thought all that Yang considered was his status. As he was reluctant, I didn’t ask him to go with me. Wang Chonghui agreed.
[1] Zhou Wenzhi was a wealthy Hong Kong businessman.
