Fine

In the morning I went with Chengyong to second-hand book shops and stores. As a matter of fact, we only intended to have a short walk.

Today the French army rose up and have recovered Paris. The German army occupied Paris for four years, and now it is liberated. But luckily Paris hasn’t suffered much damage. I learnt from the evening news that Marseille has also been liberated.

A Communist magazine published a long article talking about the Japanese war and it was quite just. It also discussed the success of our Chinese army. It only overstated the strength of the Chinese Communist Party. But since it was from the standpoint of Communist Party, it would obviously be this way. One could not blame them. I cabled the Foreign Ministry to report.
