I wrote to Sun Fo, answering his queries. I also urged him to come earlier. I asked Chengyong to give Deng Bingkun the second installment of the loan. From now on I could only hope that the monthly income will be enough to cover domestic expenditures.
The United States Senate has passed the bill requesting the American government to raise their condemnations of the Chinese Communists and not allow them to join the United Nations in the General Assembly. At the same time, the British Prime Minister has declared support for the proposal of negotiation with the Chinese Communists. No wonder that Churchill and others are worried that Britain and the United States might break apart.
