At 7.00 I went to the Nationalist Government to attend the Memorial Ceremony of Master Confucius. President H.H. Kung narrated the posthumous teachings of Confucius, which was quite good. After the meeting, as today was a holiday, I went to chat at Wang Chonghui’s. Xie Gengmin invited me to lunch at Shen Dacheng’s restaurant. It was just a small restaurant and we did not eat much, but it actually cost some $200. Now we cannot even afford to eat in a small restaurant. In the afternoon I returned home to reply to letters from family and friends, and to study the publicity bill for Party affairs in Nanyang.
