I wrote to Zhongxiong, Jinpei, F.T. Cheng and Tan Baoshen, telling them the reason I intended to travel to Britain. (I said because the household work was too much for Kitty after Mr. Sun Fo and others came, so she was really tired and needed to take a rest.)

In the morning, I went to the bank and put the Kitty’s jewellery into a safe deposit box. In the afternoon, I bought some seeds called ‘Four season strawberry” for Bingyi, and then I browsed around some bookstores for second-hand books.  At seven we went to the Shanglong restaurant to have supper. Afterwards Mr. Zhang Han accompanied us to the hotel.

At twelve, Chengyong came. He asked me to remit HK$150 on his behalf to his parents each month. I wrote immediately to elder sister, Peng, asking her to forward the monies to Chengyong’s parents for me.
