T. CHEN, M.D.
Born at Hwei-An, Fukien, 1898.
Dr. Chen was graduated from
Cheeloo University and Peking Union
Medical College with M.B. degree,
1921, and received his M.D. degree
in 1925. Post-graduate work in
Surgery at Edinburgh Royal College
of Surgeons, 1926.
He has the unique record of
twenty years' service as Surgeon
of the Lester Chinese Hospital (350
beds), Shanghai, his appointments
being as follows: Resident Physician
and Surgeon, 1921-26; Surgeon-in-
Charge, 1927-41. Concurrently, he
served as Medical Officer (with rank
of Surgeon-Commander) in the
Shanghai Naval Hospital, 1930. He
has been in private practice and
Superintendent of Pu-An Hospital
(50 beds), Shanghai, since 1940.
Received Certificate for Meritorious
Services from the Ministry of the
Navy, and Second Class First Grade
Medal from the Headquarters of the
Naval, Military and Air Forces, 1935.
Member of the Shanghai Medical
Society, the Chinese Medical Association
and the Shanghai Medical Practitioners'
